First known as "Bishop's Chapel, St. Peter's Weldon," the church held its first service on Christmas Day, 1881. In 1952 we became a parish in the Diocese of Pennsylvania and four years later, the present church was constructed. Members designed the building to reflect openness to the world.
As you enter the church, you will notice an atmosphere of worshop and reverence. Most likely your eye will be drawn to the altar or holy table in the front and the cross hanging above it. They lead our thoughts immediately to Christ and God's undying love. Notice the ceiling of the church. It brings to mind the bottom of a boat or fishing vessel, recalling that St. Peter was a fisherman before Jesus called him to his service. At the rear of the church is the choir loft, which houses the fine pipe organ that graces our services each week.
Our community gathers for education and fellowship on Sunday mornings and through the week. There are many opportunities for participation in the life of St. Peter's and we would be honored to have you share your gifts and talents with us.
