Parish members are elected to these positions at the Annual Meeting, on the first Sunday of May each year.
There is a nominating committee, but interested individuals may nominate themselves as well.
Deanery Representatives: Three representatives are elected for a one-year term. Meetings are held during the evening three times a year, in which issues regarding the Montgomery Deanery are addressed. These persons act as a liaison between the deanery and St. Peter's as the need arises.
Diocesan Convention Delegates: Three people are elected to attend the Diocesan Convention, which is held in November each year. At this convention, larger issues facing the entire Diocese of Pennsylvania are discussed and voted on. This position has a one-year term.
Diocesan Convention Alternates: Two alternates are chosen to replace the representatives if they are unable to attend the convention. This position has a one-year term.
Vestry Members: The vestry attends to the business of St.Peter's Church. Vestry meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Topics addressed include: property, finance, worship, education, outreach, in-reach, stewardship, evangelism, long-range planning and more. Members also act as greeters at Sunday services and the entire vestry attends one overnight retreat a year. The qualification for vestry members, according to the St. Peter's bylaws are: the nominee must be a baptized lay person of at least eighteen years of age, and be a member of St. Peter's Church. Vestry members are elected for three-year terms, with four new members elected each year (for a total of twelve). A non-voting youth representative is also elected.
Diocesan Youth Council: Teen representatives from the congregation support a diocesan ministry of, by and with youth.
