Music

Choirs and Music
The goal of all of our choirs is to sing God’s praises as we enrich the beauty of our liturgy. In the lyric and melody, singers learn of God’s loving power and the shape of Christian witness. Singing is learning. There is a choir for every age group at St. Peter’s and the Folk Group for instrumentalists and singers. We invite you to join one suited to you. Speak to our Minister of Music, Charles Glandorf or Linda Toia for the Folk Group if you are interested, or use the Pledge to Learn form.

Charles

Adult Choir
rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m. and sings regularly at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service. A broad range of repertoire is sung, from the Renaissance and Bach to jazz and spirituals, along with the core of music from the Anglican choral tradition.

St. Peter’s Boys and Girls Choir
rehearses on Thursdays at 4 p.m. and sings regularly on the Third Sunday of the month at the 10:00 a.m. liturgy as well as on festivals such as Christmas and Easter. Occasionally, they will sing on other Sundays especially when they combine with the Adult Choir. The choir is open, not only to members of St. Peter's, but to any child in the community in 3rd to 8th grade who would like to sing some of the great music of the church and learn about our faith through singing.

St. Cecilia Choir

is open to children from four years old through second grade. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings during the education hour. Easy songs that teach the joy of singing praise to God are chosen. This choir sings on the first Sunday of the month at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service.

St. Peter’s Folk Group
plays at the 10:00 a.m. worship services five times in the year, with at least two rehearsals before each service. Guitar, vocals, keyboard, drums and other instruments combine to present traditional and contemporary Christian folk music.
