Sunday Dec. 4: Second Sunday in Advent.  Celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas by making and giving away cookies! Distributing Mary Pat’s Cookies has become a tradition at St. Peter’s, in which parishioners of all ages bake and decorate Christmas cookies and deliver them to members who need some extra Christmas cheer this season. Here’s how your kids or the whole family can get involved:

Donations of cookie dough with baking instructions, store-bought dough, and cookie decorations (such as Hershey's kisses, Christmas chocolates, peppermints and or small candy canes) are appreciated, and can be dropped off in the kitchen that morning.

9 a.m. (before the 10 am service) Older elementary-aged children and teens are invited to lay out cookies on trays to prepare them for baking.

11:30 a.m. (after the service). All ages are invited to decorate cookies.

Donuts and hot chocolate will be provided.

Sunday Dec. 11: Third Sunday in Advent.  Guatemala Sunday.  Purchase Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers from the Guatemala Committee and learn more about our partnership with parishes in Guatemala in the parish hall after the 10 a.m. service. The service itself will feature preaching from one of our Guatemala partners, as well as music from the Folk Group. Wear pink that day for Gaudete (Joy) Sunday, also called Rose Sunday.

Christmas Pageant Rehearsals. Be part of the Christmas Pageant at the 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service, featuring children from the parish in a special program written by Rev. Barb. Plan to attend at least two rehearsals after the 10 am service on Sunday Dec. 11 and Dec. 18. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled for speaking parts. Stay tuned.
