Combating Food Insecurity in Our Community

What We Offer
St. Peter's recognizes that many of our nearby brothers and sisters may go to bed without enough food for the next day. We offer both non-perishable and fresh food to those in need through the St. Peter's Food Cupboard and the Abington Community Fridge.
St. Peter's Food Cupboard
The Food Cupboard stocks non-perishable food items as well as some personal care and household items. It is open every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and is located directly inside the parish hall, through the back doors off the parking lot in back of the church. You are welcome to walk in and help yourself to whatever you need.
We'd like to thank our dedicated food cupboard stewards, Rick DeKalb and Terita Reeve, who continue to regularly tend to our pantry.
Many thanks to our St. Peter’s family for your continuing donations to the Food Cupboard.
Currently, shelves are emptied and refilled up to twice a day as demand increases in these uncertain times. Checks can be made out to St. Peter's with Food Cupboard in the memo line.
If you know of an organization that collects non-perishable items for cupboards like ours, please contact Rick DeKalb at Brick86@comcast.net.

Abington Community Fridge and Shed
The Community Fridge is a project of mutual aid, in which community members provide food for one another through a refrigerator that is accessible seven days a week, 24 hours a day. It is located on the porch between the kitchen and the food cupboard.
The Abington Community Fridge, located on St. Peter's back porch, is an active mutual aid project that offers 24/7 food and resources to the community.
Perishable foods that are packaged, labeled and dated can be placed in the refrigerator or the freezer, as appropriate. Non-perishable items can be placed in the plastic cupboard or in the St. Peter's Food Cupboard through the door.
Leftovers from large food events such as office and school parties are also welcome as long as they are packaged and dated and labeled with their contents.
