Health Clinics and Blood Drives

Health Clinics
St. Peter's cares about the physical and emotional as well as spiritual health of its members.  We have hosted flu vaccine clinics, blood pressure screenings and youth mental health first-aid clinics.  One of our members is a certified Grief Counselor who periodically leads group coaching sessions.  Watch our HOME page and EVENTS page for upcoming health events.

Parish Nurse Office Hours
Kristina Marchuk, St. Peter's parish nurse, is available for health and wellness conversations and vital sign screenings on Sundays after worship in the library. If you'd like to reserve time with her, email Kristina at k_marchuk@yahoo.com. Drop ins are also welcome. Download the flyer here to learn more about how to stay health during cold and flu season.
Blood Drives

St. Peter's supports the health of our parishioners and our community by hosting American Red Cross-run blood drives in our Parish Hall.  Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood, but only 3% of the population are blood donors. YOU can play a critical role in the treatment of accident and burn victims, patients with leukemia, cancer and sickle cell or those undergoing heart surgery and organ transplants. One blood donation can help up to three patients. The process takes about an hour.  You need to be in generally good health and weigh at least 110 lb.  Click the image above to go to the Red Cross website for more donation details, including a full list of eligibility requirements such as an alphabetical list of many medications and health conditions that affect your ability to donate. You may be surprised at the many things that you thought exclude you from donation that really don't!  After donating a pint, St. Peter's offers you a "thank you pint".  In the past this has included items like water ice, homemade soup, beer, ice cream, etc, donated by local merchants. Being a donor is not the only way you can help.  Volunteers are needed with a variety of skills: to phone prospective donors; to provide lunch for the (approximately 6) Red Cross volunteers; to come up with ideas and contact merchants for thank-you pints; to advertise our blood drive and share the idea of giving a priceless gift to our neighbors. Interested in being a part of this life-giving effort either as a donor or a volunteer? Contact Kate Boyce (yellowkab1@gmail.com).  And watch our EVENTS page for announcements about upcoming drives.
