Diocesan Anti-Gun Violence Committee

Parishioners of St. Peter's work alongside clergy and lay leaders on the Diocesan Anti-Gun Violence Committee, participating in initiatives such as annual gun buyback events, rallies, Advocacy Day, and T-shirt memorial projects.

The Souls Shot art exhibition ran for the entire month of January 2025 in St. Peter's sanctuary. The exhibition featured portraits of Philadelphia-area residents who have lost their lives to gun violence. The portraits, created by local artists, used a variety of media, aiming to create a sacred space to honor the lives of those affected by gun violence and to advocate for effective gun control legislation and practices.
In addition to the month-long exhibition, an Adult Forum tour and discussion, a Community Program & Tour, and a Taizé Prayer Service were held to deepen and enrich the meaning of the art’s presence.
