Announcements & Upcoming Events
You may have noticed how smoggy and smelly the air has been this week. As a result of the Canadian wildfires, air quality across the US has plunged, and millions are being exposed to hazardous pollutants. Air pollution can kill crops and reduce life expectancy, making it difficult to sustain our planet.
What Can I Do Now?
With summer nearing, many of us are enjoying spending time outdoors , but did you know popular summer activities like grilling and starting a campfire can cause a wildfire?
Preventing Wildfires during Summer:
-
When grilling, be careful to dispose of charcoal or any burning debris after it's completely cooled.
-
Be sure not to start campfires in dry, windy weather conditions. Don't leave fires unattended, and douse campfires until they are fully extinguished.
-
Avoid driving or parking on dry grass. When off-roading, remember to bring emergency supply, like an fire extinguisher **off-highway vehicles must have a spark arrester**
