Exciting News: St. Peter's Named as Beneficiary in Trust

Paul Mortimer and Bertha Hepworth Mortimer were prominent members of St. Peter’s Church during the 1950’s. They witnessed much change in their time, including the building and consecration of the church building we know and love. Their legacy to St. Peter’s lives on today.
For one example, next time you are in church, look up to both sides for the sanctuary and you see beautiful stained glass renderings of Jesus’ parables. At the building of the church, the Mortimers gave memorial gifts to St. Peter’s in the form of three of these windows.

Another example comes in the recent news to us. In his will, executed in 1967, Paul Mortimer set forth St. Peter’s as a beneficiary of his estate. We recently received word from the trustee that, in accordance with his will, St. Peter’s will receive a portion of the Mortimer Estate residual in the amount of approximately $190,000. Vestry will announce a strategy for applying this gift to our financial position.
What a wonderful gift Paul’s foresight bestows upon us. We can imagine the love that the Mortimers had for St. Peter’s then and now…the kind love of which Mother Teresa spoke.
