Rector's Note: Christmas Blessings-12.19.24

As Advent draws to a close and makes gentle room for the birth of our savior, I wanted to send just a quick note wishing you the best that this holy Christmas offers us.  Amidst the gift giving and the family visits and the heavy meals, perhaps even hidden among the shreds of wrapping, is the promise that our God is with us in the joy of it, the strain, and for some, the pain of it.

I encourage you to use this time to find some quiet moments to open yourself to receive the best gifts of this short season – comfort for the broken hearted, guiding light to those in unfamiliar circumstances, defiant hope in the face of unpredictable powers and principalities, forgiveness and reconciliation for those turning their lives around. In return, God asks us to make a place in ourselves where the divine light can dwell and be carried into a world that longs for this kind of love.

May the blessings of this coming Christmas season find you and fill you with the love, hope, joy and faith that our Advent candles have promised us is on the way.

Love,

Rev. Barb
